Peak 2,507′ “Buzzard’s Roost”

After the west ridge had been deemed outside the activation zone, I return to do “Buzzard’s Roost” proper.

A misty morning return to a local favorite.

The best part of this activation was working Martha W0ERI and Gary W0MNA summit-to-summit!

The antenna leads gave me a pretty good shock off my 40m doublet, so I work UHF/VHF only on these two summits.

A mountain bike trip up La Jolla Peak to finish off all of the Santa Monica Mountains and adjacent summits.

A short and steep hike on a cloudy Wednesday morning.

Brian WA6JFK and I have a big day on Pacifico Mountain.

A recon of the area leads to an activation (sort of)

An easy hike turns more difficult when the road gets rough.

Calling the owner of the mountaintop the day before, I am granted permission to activate this summit.
